Project Description

THE NEW LIGHTWEIGHT “BEACHY AIR” FROM HOBBY

HEADING FOR THE FUTURE WITH THE CARAVAN
Camping holidays allow us to embrace nature. In any place, at any age, at any time. Uncomplicated, flexible and simple. Hobby shows what this could look like in the future with the BEACHY AIR study – a technology carrier with a focus on lightweight construction and functionality.

THE IDEA
A caravan that is so light and aerodynamic that it can also be towed by electric vehicles and with a class B driving licence. And that with the consistent continuation of the BEACHY idea; to build simple, clever and stylish vehicles with a beach house look.

THE GOAL
To achieve a caravan with a maximum technically permissible laden mass of less than 750 kg, in order to develop the ideal caravan for the e-mobility age.

THE BODY – COMPRESSED. SIMPLE. UNIQUE.
With a body length of approx. 3.5 m and an overall height of approx. 2 metres, the BEACHY AIR seems very compact at first glance.
However, the clever pop-up roof allows the room height to be extended to 2.15 metres.
